So I?ve just emailed someone at OSP. This is the first time I?ve used JPay for anything other than money transfer.
My last pp was in Arizona and this is the only experience I?ve had with prisons and they certainly don't have access to tablets there!
So I was just after a little more info on the tablets. Do they only have access to them at certain times? I imagine they are stored away in bulk to charge?
Also I haven?t had any other correspondence with him so far. I saw his profile on here and just emailed him rather than sending snail mail.
Any info at all is appreciated. If we become pp?s it will take a while to get used to how much more things they have access to in Ohio!

So my pp just moved to Lebanon and they took his jp4 player before he was moved there. He’s ordered a jp5 but I’m guessing the order hasn’t gone through yet as within the last few days it says I can order him a tablet. Thing is, I’ve not heard from him since this option became available on Jpay (the first week or 2 of him being a Lebanon it still said he had one even though he didn’t) so I’m basically wondering this...
Can they use the kiosk still if they don’t have a jp5 player?
There are so many reasons for him not to contact me. Just wondering if this could be one or if he can still use the kiosks.
He can call too but he hasn’t. So he’s either locked down or ghosting me! His last videogram seems normal though and he said he’d call!
Can anyone confirm whether this is correct or not please!? If I send a prepaid reply - they can only use that stamp at the kiosk and not on their tablet (it’s an old one).
Yeah, I?ve heard they?ve been trialling them at Pima County Jail. I think they are fantastic. Not sure if they?ll be available across the state anytime soon but it would make quite a difference for some of these guys and girls and their family and friends.
My pp is in Arizona & there is talk of them being able to buy tablets.
Just got a reply from him just now!:amillanbliss:
I forgot what it felt like to get your initial response from a potential pp!
I’ve written to another guy in Az too but I was looking for one other person that I could contact with JPay. It’s so exciting to me that they have these tablets and I don’t have time to physically sit and write more than one person so this seemed perfect. I’ve definitely spent far to long with Arizona doc if I’m this ecstatic about email!
Thanks for the response! That means they have to physically connect to a kiosk if they want to check for emails?
If that’s the case then hopefully he has other people emailing him so he’ll check sooner than if he isn’t expecting anything!
They keep the tablets to themselves forever. They are slightly different from the ones you get out in the free world. No wireless or cellular service. Anything that requires a connection to the Internet is done through a special kiosk.
