It costs them almost nothing and you will never find out unless someone tells you. There is a strict code these men follow inside to not snitch on eachother so good luck finding someone who cares that your being screwed over.
My pen pal and I started talking end of 2021 and I guess he has a girlfriend since 2020 and a fiance that he proposed to. He love bombed me and made me think he was so in love with me until his girlfriend contacted me and told me alll about what was going on.

Yes asked for money but not at first. He said his guitar broke and his glasses at one point but it was never broken and the glasses werent either. He said he loved me after a few weeks and i thought that was strange. I found on facebook that 3 other women were also talking to him and sending him money and one is actually engaged or thinks she is.
I am so sorry that you were played. I don't want to intrude but I think it's important to share some more details. Did he ask you for money? How did he go about scamming you? Please only answer if you feel comfortable sharing this information.
These guys are ruining a beautiful concept for a lot of others, it's such a pity.
I am glad though that you found out very soon and I hope there wasn't much damage done.
