Hi! I'm curious if any of you can share any experience you may have had or know someone who has come in contact with corrupt staff? Seems to be in the news alot lately and I'm just curious.
I went to high school with a man who became a correctional officer and apparently a drug dealer. What's interesting is he lost his job but didn't get charged with any crime.

ST4S, could your bud get his account published, either as part of his own writing or as part of a collection of writings by prisoners about the prison experience, if someone was gathering such accounts? I mean more for public consumption, to inform those curious about the experiences behind bars, and not to publicly lodge a specific complaint or get caught up in disputes over specific incidents? I'm starting to think I'd like to try to put together something like that.

Not specifically one C.O but I know that there are a lot of them around from various experiences that my pp's have had.

ST4s
The most egregious one to me was a Special Investigative Supervisor (SIS) (kind of like the FBI in federal prisons) who falsified an incident report to exact revenge on one of my buds. The fallout included his spending several months in the hole, three I recall, and a transfer to a one step below supermax facility for nine months more – for something he didn’t do. My bud is a very expressive writer, and if he were a card-carrying journalist, his account of this would be Pulitzer Prize material.
Of course, it’s always the prisoner’s word against the powers that be, and we all know how that turns out. Sometimes the criminals have badges.
