Hi

My girl is trying to do some research into the Honor System at her place and asked me to help search for info. Is anyone aware of any formal rules around Honor Systems? The example I was given is that correction officers are using it to stop female inmates from buying hair dye, makeup or special food etc. You can see the scenario ... a corrections officer has a lippy inmate so punishes her by claiming a 'misdemeanour' and loss of privileges - hence they invoke the 'Honor System. It is so unfair and unconstitutional. I can only find references to 'Farm' and 'parole' where the honor system comes into play, by trusting the inmate/parolee to abide by conditions in return for trust/freedom.

Is it just a Kentucky thing?

Prisons seem to be designed for male offenders with little regard for the dignity of female offenders.

Thanks for any advice
