How to snail mail pics

Hi all! I'm very new to this--just sent out some letters in the past few days. I'm anticipating being asked for a photo. If I were to just print one out with my printer on regular paper, would that generally be all right? Or do I need to get them printed on a photographic paper? Obviously, they would be appropriate, G-rated photos. I don't want to use JPay or other online services because I want to support the USPS more than I want to support a corporation.

P.S., my potential PPs are in Texas, Louisiana, and North Carolina.

Thanks!

Good on you for writing! And here’s hoping you find this an amazing, rewarding, and eye-opening experience.

I don’t know much about Louisiana or North Carolina, save for beignets or muffulattas in the French Quarter, or the Tar Heels or the Outer Banks, but Texas…

My bud in Texas can receive 10 color prints on photo paper per envelope. I’ve also sent photos inline with my letters, like a magazine layout, on regular bond paper, illustrating whatever it is we’re yakking about. Your best source of information on these things is your pen pal though. Mail rules vary so much, and change with the wind sometimes, so it’s always best to get facility-specific info.

Hello, my new potential pen pal is in Michigan. Do you know if they are able to receive photos there? I am new to this myself :)

Thank you
