My guy is in an Ohio prison and got shoes off an another inmate. He wants me to forward the money for the shoes to the other inmate. Does anyone know if You are allowed to do this? Let Me knows...it is much appreciated.
Sure I send money orders to pp's yet only to those I write. What they do with the funds is their thing, yet I do not send to "friends" or accept prison money orders for an inmate.

I have a girl locked up in Missouri. I have sent money orders to other girls and have never had a problem. Like fro instance, right now she wants to knit a blanket for her daughter, but can only buy so much yarn at one time, so I am sending some money so that one of her friends can purchase the additional yarn. Thecnically they do not like it but never had any problems

I have sent money using moner orders to inmates accounts before. Like, my boyfriend had a guy who works in the leathershop there make a belt for him and had me (I'm in charge of his finances while he's locked up) send his money to the other inmates account via a money order. I've had to do this with other things as well. But these were all special order stuff... not like trading shoes or anything.

There is a reason they have the rules they do, because of drugs, and all the crazy little ideas some inmates get. So even if someone does something that is just a normal I will give you shoes for $10, because of the bs that goes on don't work that way. Better to just buy his own from store.

It is called trafficking in all states . You guy made a big mistake
That is what I thought. One of my pp's said you can get a case for trafficking for something as simple as giving another inmate a bar of soap.

Be very careful about that

I know in the State Prisons in MO & the Federal System this is not permitted (per staff rules). However, someone else could send the money, i.e., you probably send money to your guy & your name is on the (money order/money gram) money that is received & is recorded on file. Therefore, "they" would question your "guy" (and he could get a violation) as to the reason you were sending the money. Been there, done that!

I would assume that he could get busted for "trafficking" for an exchange like that, couldn't he?
