I used the Email option to write a few letters but forgot to include my address to write back to. Will they know how to write back? Not sure what to do now.

Mak..you'll have to choose a PP that has institutional jpay...that way he/she can use jpay yo e mail you...it's like the prison version of yahoo or google mail..its free to open an account there..that way you can just put in your PP of choices name and number and you can see if they have jpay at theur prison..

You can use the WAP email contact only for the initial letter. So you'd either go for on online P:O:box (if such a thing does exist, I don't know) or through a service like Jpay. But if you do you'd have to be careful to choose someone who can also write you back via Jpay. (in TX for xample, many can get Jpay, it gets printed for them and is then delivered/distributed in the prison), but they can only respond via snail mail. So, you'll carefully have to look for the right state (and facility, as this can differ, too).

I'm new here, I want to write a letter, using the E-mail option as I don't actually have a home address (I travel alot). I just want to know how they would send a letter back..or is there a way to just do email? I know that they do not have acess to the internet.

Hi,

The inmate info is added automatically as well, it just doesn't show when you type your email. So no need to re-write your letter : )

Hello,
Im new to this aswell. I've sent through my first letter using the email option, it had automatically added my address so I thought the same for inmate info. Does that mean I should re-write but add in inmate details myself ? Ughh it took me forever just to write the letter cause I was so blank and now this :'(

Indeed!

People from outside the United States do, however, have to be aware that the country which you live in is NOT added automatically to the initial contact e-mail. Furthermore, there are several countries around the world in which the components of an address are written down in a different order than in the United States while WAP's e-mail system writes adresses in the United States' manner. I noticed that when writing the initial contact e-mail to my inmate. This is something that could cause delays in the delivery of the inmate's reply letter because the mail sorting machines of your country's postal service fail to recognize your address; such letter will be ejected from the mail sorting machines and will have to be processed manually.

In short: for people from outside the United States who are writing an inmate in the U.S. it is best to include your (whole) adress in the initial contact e-mail.

You don't need to contact WAP about it, your address is added automatically when the letter is forwarded

Contact with WAP, tell them you forgot. They will add your adress for you!
