WAP offers an email feature for first contact. Afterwards it'll usually be snailmail or Jpay or corrlinks, if the facilities have it available.
But since WAP prints the emails and sends them twice a month, it ccould even be faster to start with a handwritten (or typed) intro letter to the address given in the profile anyway.
Good luck & happy writing
Hi Jekasha,
I'm also from Australia :)
If you find a pen pal who has a current Jpay account it makes things alot quicker with the response time.
You can sign up to the app and download it to your phone. It has many options including emailing , videogram and buying stamps which all get done through the app.
also adding different pen pals to the app is very easy and it stores all their details to your Jpay account to make things simple.
hope this helps a little

If your inmate is in a state that has Jpay, Corrlinks or Access Corrections you can email them directly. If you send an email to a federal prisoner be sure to include your email in the first email so that they can add you to their approved correspondence list. You will need to be on the contact list of a federal inmate before they can send you any emails out.
