Hello everybody, I'm new on writeaprisoner, I sent an e-mail to an inmate last week and actually understand pretty well how it works the e-mail procedures. Hope he will get it soon.

But could you please kindly help me understand something about jpay? I read if you don't write your e-mail address in the body of the message the inmate will not be able to reply because it does not appear automatically. Is it true?

I sent a jaypay message but no reply yet..

Thank you in advance for your replies and i hope you all have a lovely day,

Lena xx

ps.sorry for my not perfect english

Whoops! It was another post in the Texas forum.

So it depends what State your PP is in and which prison as to how they reply. You can check on JPays website by typing the name of the State and availability into Google. But if you are writing to Texas/Colorado and some prisons in California then you may need to include your postal address in the message anyway :)

Hi Aneliram,

JPay is a seperate platform and varies from State to State. You put this in the Texas part of the forum so is your PP incarcerated in Texas? If they are then they can receive JPays but can't email back, they have to use postal mail to reply. Therefore, if you write an inmate in Texas (or Colorado, and some places in Cali) then you have to put a postal address in the body of your message so they can send a reply back to you.
Hope that helps!
