Hi all,

So I was just wondering how could I get a FEMALE to write my brother. He is in dire need of a pen pal. A week or two ago he received mail but it was from a male. Although the male wasn't disrespectful considering the fact my bother is straight and it's listed on his profile that he was straight. He prefer to get mail from females. How can I help him get mail???

Sometimes the ads say "hey I'm with guys all day so I need a change up, looking for ladies to talk to" if that is what the person is seeking!

Hi Temika,

I'm with Violet on that one. Post a link to his profile on this thread and let ppl have a look at it. Maybe there's some wording or anything else that might cause a potential problem and ppl who have been doing writing to inmates for a while might be able to tell you so. As for the gender: Hm... you could add females only to the ad, but to be honest; I don't quite get the problem.

Of course, incarcerated ppl are surrounded by their own sex 24/7 and therefore long for the opposite, that's understandable.

But on the other hand: ppl are ppl, aren't they? And if the need is to find someone to talk, then I don't see where sexual orientation comes into play, as talking to anyone doesn't mean any kind of romantic relationship. If your brother is secretly or openly going or hoping for one (a romantic relationship, that is), then it is a completely different ballgame. But that would be your brother's point in the first place, not that of anyone who might be writing in. ;-)

Have a nice day,

Kirsten

You could put a blurb about your brother here, with his name and profile linked on the forum for people to see? Might get a bit more foot traffic if you tell everyone your brothers name.
If he's in dire need of a pen pal then I'd say the guy that wrote in would be a good start. The ads are up for a year so I would assume he's got plenty of time to get a few more replies.
