Hey, im new one here. I sent a letter to an inmate, but for some reasons, I don't want to receive my letter to them. So is there any possibility to cancel it?
Did you manage to do this or have you heard back.now ftom the inmate,?

Do you mean that you don't want them to receive your already sent letter? Was it sent through snail-mail? There's no way to cancel. But you can wait for them to reply, and then send another letter (if they reply) stating you need to stop communicating.
Anyways, that's not a very nice act, to stop communicating soon after starting... There's really a good reason to do that?

I wish people would really take the time to consider whether or not they really wish to write someone. Also do any research on them BEFORE you begin correspondence.
It's just a really crappy thing to do to someone when you reach out to them and then get their hopes up for nothing.

I'm actually considering the same. It's not that I don't want to correspond, I do, I just realized after the letter was sent that I would have been more comfortable initiating via email.

It's easier by letter, Lena, trust me. True, in an email you don't have to give away an email addy, BUT (and this is a huge but), sending emails regularly can build up mountains of expectations, like writing daily, perhaps even multiple times, etc. I'd strongly recommend to take it slow, to build and to bond in a slow, but steady way - and letters are great to do this.
