I'm thinking about writing to a prisoner on death row. I haven't gotten up the nerve to send a letter yet because it is making me a little nervous and I'm pretty new at this. Would anyone like to share their experience writing a death row inmate?

Writing an inmate on death row comes with the reality of knowing that one day, in the forseeable future,  they may well die. It also comes with the reality that they may use you to further their case. I wrote a death row inmate in California once and every other letter he was shouting out I'M INNOCENT! Eventually that all got too much.

Hi redrose I think if you wanted to write a death row inmate you should not every experience is going to be the same and every inmate isn’t the same and will have a different reason for being on this site. You could have a really good friendship or find out it’s just not for you. But if that is what you wanna do do it and good luck with it, let us know how you get on :-)
