Hey, I´ve just made up this account because I am worried concerning my penpal living at the French Robertson Unit in Texas.

I´ve wrote him a letter in January, which he never answered... this is really unusual for him, he normaly answers directly and I get his letter about two weeks later. So I decided to write a second letter (about 3-4 weeks ago) and still haven´t got any reply.

Does anybody have an idea what happened and what I can do to reconnect with him ?

I am looking forward for your answer and really hope to find someone who can help me...

thank you very much for the answer. In fact you were right, I just got an reply from him. He told me, that he received my letters, so his previous answer must have gotten lost...

Thanks again and have a nice day.

I just went to the prison's website and it doesn't state anything about a prison wide lock down. It's a possibility that your pen-pal could have been moved to isolation for punishment perhaps? They get mail restriction, phone, etc.

Also, he could have been transferred which he would not have known beforehand. Here's a website to check https://www.tdcj.texas.gov/ks_offender.htm

Mailrooms can be incredibly slow at times. Some prisons are shipping all mail to another state and location, to be opened and then photocopied, then shipped back to the inmate. It's insane, but I don't know if his prison has decided to do that. The best thing to do is to just keep writing to him, if he's been put into solitary, when he gets out which could be anywhere from 30-90 days (typically but not always) he will have a lot of letters of support and encouragment waiting for him.
