Hi guys.
Does somebody of you know, if the amount of pages is limited? Have a topic from Wikipedia which I printed out, it's 13 pages long. And don't know if there's a limit for it.
And what about ehm... flippant words? Like "horny" for example? No, please don't think bad about me, it's because of an sarcastic line I want to write.

Thanks to all of you!

At https://www.tdcj.texas.gov/policy/index.html it's listed BP-03.91 (rev. 3) from August 23, 2013. It is the PDF with the rules for mailing inmates.

In that document, you can find the following rule:

PROCEDURES:
I. General Rules and Instructions Regarding Correspondence
C. How to Correspond
There is no restriction placed upon the length of incoming or outgoing correspondence. All offender mail shall be sent and received through duly authorized channels. Offenders shall not smuggle letters in or out of the institution.

Actually, personally, I don't mind the 5 pages. I am constantly busy and having to take days to write 5 pages even though I have a lot to write about. And it is also good because then I am "forced" to get that letter out and start a new one. So, she would probably rather have many 5 page letters in a month than one 20 page letter a month.

It might also be good for the mailroom personnel. It makes them peruse more letters and process them faster so they can get to more inmates faster. Why get stuck on one 20 page letter for one inmate and hold up 4 or 5 letters for just as many inmates?

Oh yeah, I see your points. Make sense. I would definitely take 5 pages rather than none :)
Still good to be able to send many long letters, though :)

I apologize, I didn't realize it was on a Texas forum.

But, still worthy of mention, don't you think?

Virginia DOC has a 5 page limit.

Good to know; except the question related to Texas ;)
5 pages though? That's way restrictive! I guess there ARE advantages to having one's loved one or pp in Texas. WAAH! I don't say that very often.

DanPal is right, TDCJ does not limit the number of pages, or the number of photos or other inserts. You can use whatever words you like, though if you are emailing then I would avoid the obvious such as "escape".

The only thing to remember with snail mail is that inmates cannot receive "packages" so if the envelope is large and fully stuffed, the inmate might not be permitted to have it. Better to send several smaller, thinner envelopes than one large one.

You shouldn't have a problem at all.
I send 18-20 pages, and write freely what I want. Steamy stuff too from time to time.
