I often just call him ?J?. His first initial. Not actually sure if anyone else calls him that. I just naturally felt it was ok to do so straight from the off in my emails and we were speaking on the phone within a couple of weeks. He has a nickname that?s a take on his surname. He uses it for his poetry and other writings.
My ex? El douchebag (he?s Mexican!) or a**hole! Haha. In the most endearing way possible. Definitely no hatred behind it despite him being my ex. Another is Chipas. A nickname he has inside. Other ones that declared how much I love him and what he means to me I just don?t use anymore. Nicknames can mean a lot and say a lot about the kind of relationship you have, y?know?

Awwww that's kinda cute. I'm not going to say why my husband was given the Nickname 'Tramp', from the story I was told, let's just say he knew a lot of them. Lol

My penpal Linda goes by the nickname "Byrd" (pronounced 'bird'). She is something of a maternal figure in her housing unit and a lot of the younger inmates call her "Mama Byrd".

This seems like a fun thread. Why did we let it die?
My husband goes by the Nickname of 'Tramp', I have one also. Mine is 'trouble'. So it's 'Tramp & trouble'. Yes, we do call each other by our nicknames. Well unless we are mad at the other. Lol you don't even want to know what we call each other then.
His friends on the outside used to call him 'Spence', but I just don't think a variation of your last name is a very good nickname.

a**hole and dipshit are fairly common ones that my penpal and I call each other, well, my penpal is out now, but the names stay the same. Also I get names that reference questionable sexuality on my part. Of course, I am not sexually confused, but my good looks, charm and style are misinterpreted as signs of gayness :dunno: Also, my mid-western penpal (yes- I am insinuating that mid-westerns lack sophistication) calls me "metro" for "metrosexual" and even suggests that a man bag is a sign of questionable sexuality too. What is the world coming to!?!

Yep! And I am sorry that I am not at a point yet that I can share the stories behind those names. I'm doing good just by saying that much. But thank you for starting this thread.
Lol no worries I understand.

I have one pen pal who prefers to use his last name as his nickname.
I have another pen pal who prefers to use a nickname that people have called him since he was a kid.
I haven't invented any new nicknames for any of my pen pals.

Jellybean/snugglebug, but only because he doesn't like it :D thinks he has a reputation to live up to and anything cute/adorable is, of course, out of the question.

Just curious to hear the different nicknames lol
No. I tend to use the name they use and leave it at that, unless the name is weird and bears no relationship to their real name.
