Right, theres a fair few ladies on this board so i'll expect a load of moaning!

Post away things that are irritating you..day by day, hour by hour, things change and annoy us. Why not sit and vent in here?

I'll start, since it's only fair...

Bit pissed at the fact i was stupid enough NOT to check last postal times for the US so it's looking like PP's won't be getting their Xmas stuff in time, what an idiot :(

Returning jihadist from isis in Sweden are getting a new identity, house & money. They do not have to work.

You would of thought Canada would of learnt from our mistake. We also gave them money after we released them. Were all gonna be sitting in our head scarfs reading the Quran, if we haven't had them chopped off. They have yet again been demonstrating in out streets, and still nothing is done.
As for kids, it's a sorry state of affairs when we can't even look after our kids. In all corners of the world..

Think about American kids who die every day because
parents do not have good health care.

Children from birth if parent or parents cannot afford health coverage, their child is covered. Also in a TX border towns many ( way too many) babies born with drug addictions, are flown for free to hospitals & treated by doctors & nurses who specialize in their treatment... A long time friend has a daughter who is one of those nurses, fact.

Since you want to pit remarks non factual regarding the US.
Here is one that is factual, Canada gives returning jihadist 10 million dollars.

All people from every country who suffer the painful loss of a child deserve empathy and they will always have mine, American, Chinese, Mongolian, or Martian.

Noooooooo! That's not what I meant at all. I didn't mean "I" or anyone else in modern times seemed like anyone's hero for being a Yank. It's that when the phrase was used on me in the past in the UK I never felt that it was insulting but that it was based on a moment in historical n time, exactly that, from glossy films, not anything in present reality or anything warranted and certainly not the way it could be used by certain people in the South, as an insult. It's not insulting is what I meant. At least to me it wasn't. Historical.

I lived in Europe for years, this wasn't just Yank on vacation. Certain people in the UK thought it was funny or cheeky to refer to me as "the Yank" and it didn't bother me because it was not done in a mean spirited way. Not sure if that would even exist anymore. This was back in the late 80's early 90's. Pop culture phrases tend to change over time.

One of my PP's, when I was teasingly insulting Americans said, well would you rather we were all "stuffy nosed, tea drinking, crumpet eating" (something I can't remember)... it just reeled off his tongue and I found it hilarious.

There are also sorts of things that are said in jest and meant in jest as "insults" People can be too sensitive at times I feel. You can usually have an idea with someone's tone and facial expressions or the "sound" in their voice as they say it.

Like the "Yanks" call us "Limeys". I am not that easily offended.

Heartbreaking, baby Charlie passed away today.

I was having such a hard time reading all of it and not crying my head off. I can't imagine being in those parents' position.

"In love we find out who we want to be; in war we find out who we are"... In that book was the first time I ever heard an American being referred to as a Yank. Or possibly the first time I heard it and actually realized that it was a slang term for Americans

I don't think Yank is anything to do with being a hero. If you dig past all the glossy films. Your see your GIs were not seen in such a good light. Through out all the wars, they have raped and killed women. in France 77 of your GIs were hung for it. Woman were left pregnant having been fed bullshit story's. Some of the stuff I've read about from Vietnam is disgusting too. Since we now have internet and easily posted photos. We saw how vile they were in Iraq. I know British soldiers were just as bad. I just didn't want anyone to be deluded in thinking Yank meant hero.

The only time I minded being called a Yankee was when I was in Georgia and that was followed by "N"-lover. Ummmm....never quite heard someone hurl such things around in a casual conversation before. Wow.
Never minded at all being called a Yank while in the U.K. It's meant as a bit of a compliment, leftover from the war time hero bit. Never meant in a mean or sarcastic way, at least not that I've experienced.

Georgia...**shivers***

LOL yes, I did get here as fast as I could. 36 yrs here & glad to be here.

I am not fully conservative, nor liberal. Lets just say" I am a moderate. I really like Texans, agree or not on some topics they are good folks for sure. Hearts as big as Texas.

Molly Ivins once said, " The only thing in the middle of the road in Texas is dead animals".
But I pick on y'all Damn Yankees, like I pick on the Euros.
For us it means we like ya, if we're pickin.

I'm 47. Native Texan, raised in Southern Baptist. I'm the psychedelic sheep of my family. I remember talking with you before but I don't share your business openly on here. Your not Native Texan but I understand that you got here as fast as you could.

Why are there no diaper changing tables in the men's restroom?
My moan is that it's all about the bathroom bill right now, Geez, as if us Texans have nothing else to frickin do.
And it always cracks me up BTW peanut when you and I discuss and debate topics in Tx. We both live here. I was born and raised here and yet your so much more conservative friendly than I.

How old are you nat? i have been here more years than you I bet. Many native Texans agree with my point of view( that were born & raised here). I agree it should not take ten hours though. If your tools are ouuttie's use men's restrooms, if innies use women's restrooms. As far as men & changing diapers let them speak on that issue.

I thought this moan was about the bathroom bill? How is that hurting women & kids?

natalieandjames

Yea, and that's the thing, the predators can do that now. It's such a big propaganda to protect women, which I can assure that the state of Texas does not care about or there wouldn't be thousands of rape kit evidence gathering dust in courthouse basements.
I doubt they'll have a 10 hour discussion about the mismanagement of the teachers retirement pension and definitely nothing about the complete corruption of TDCJ.

Earthmother

It is fear of peds posing to get access to our kids as well as easy access to rape.

Most pedophiles know their victims already. The percentage of pedophiles who victimize random unknown children (ie: pose a stranger danger) is around 5% - a figure which obviously shouldn't condoned or minimized but which does indicate that the likelihood of a random pedophile wanting to gain access to a particular washroom in order to victimize a child is very low))

Earthmother

We hide to use the restrooms, dressing rooms, to shower etc etc too. There are breast pumps. to me exposing ones self to "all" is not a good thing for the public.

I breast fed 4 children - on trains, buses, on airplanes, in town squares, shopping malls, restaurants, once on the steps of the Uffizi Gallery Museum in Florence, Italy - wherever and whenever they were hungry and needed feeding.

Most breastfeeding women are not exposing themselves to the public - they are simply feeding their child, which is completely natural and nutritionally beneficial for the child. It's milk that is on tap whenever a child needs feeding. If a nipple/boob gets flashed accidentally while a baby is latching on, what the heck is the big deal anyway? It's just a nipple and a breast doing exactly what it is designed to do. If the "public" doesn't like it, no one is forcing them to look - and if they are starring, well, that's just bloody rude.

gooddog

Whether you agree with it or not the question is: who is enforcing this? Are they going to have pee-pee checkers outside every bathroom now? It's possible to see very beautiful trans women, or very masculine trans men. Who is going to be the one to walk up to them and say, "Excuse me, I need to check your Adam's apple?" (If they haven't had surgery to get it removed!)

If I were trans I would just go ahead and use the bathroom that matched my outward appearance the most. Like they're not going to, lol. Until the Bathroom Enforcement Squad comes into being!

whitediamonds

And isn't that a damn shame that us women have to hide in the bathrooms to feed the future generations. Unless breasts are used to sell products it's a crime.

It is not a fear of transgender nor racist. A third bathroom added would be extreme cost to all public places. It is fear of peds posing to get access to our kids as well as easy access to rape.
Women also use restrooms to breast feed.

Common sense, if you;have an outtie use the men's room, if an innie use a women's rooms.

I go to my local airport in Denmark, and go to the bathroom where men and women of many nationalities use the same bathroom. No one gets assaulted - or 'dies'. People do their business and leave.
Still cannot work out what the fuss is about regarding all the 'separateness', especially when it comes to transgender. It's complete paranoia to imagine everyone a predator. Sure they are out there, but they are all over the place, not in bathrooms in particular. And I have yet to see research that says that transgender people are more likely to assault you. I'm thinking probably less, in fact. But that's just my opinion.

FreakLikeMe

I think there should just be a 3rd bathroom for transgender or anyone that doesn't mind doing whatever in the same place as someone who is a different sex.
I know transgender people need to be safe. But then so does everyone one else.

The Texas bathroom bill. The PEOPLE of Texas DO NOT CARE!!

The Texas Senate is in Special Session, it is almost 10:00 here and last I heard the frickin discriminatory bathroom bill is still being discussed.

whitediamonds

You would think at this point in the festivities that the government of our nation might have more important things to worry about other than where people go to the bathroom? One would think.

Perhaps the people of Texas are more concerned about their health care? Just a thought.

Exactly.

The world's worst moan (to me at least...) My photoshop and paint shop pro filters/plugins aren't working anymore, so I can't use the software to follow any tutorials (because tuts usually require a buttload of filters).

My life is officially over

Dear Great Britain, I don't know how us Americans have gone from King George 3rd to President Covfefe. Can I come back? I do have a drop or 3 of English in me. SMH. URGG.

Good enough reason to go... I recently joined a small group if children with their guardians and was invited to join them for a meal: my first instinct was to turn it down, but then they said they were going out to a Chinese restaurant, with eat-all-you-can buffet....

lol! the all you can eat would haul me in too for sure! how did the day/evening go eventually?
A bad 4 years lol. he has been digging at me for a long time. telling me not to put 1st class stamps on, [...]
This I can understand: international postal regulations, which hardly anyone follows, require all stamps used for out-of-country post to have their value on them. This is to aid those in other countries to see that the right postage has been paid, and that the sending country is not defrauding them which, let's be honest, makes no difference whatsoever since international post is handled by weight. And, of course, if these regulations were enforced, the Global Forever stamps from the USA would be invalid too.

The regulations are available in most post offices and online of you want to check them and catch him out. I cannot imagine any regulations which dictate a shape for a parcel, just as long as it is of the right weight for the postage, properly packed and easy enough for someone to handle.

A bad 4 years lol. he has been digging at me for a long time. telling me not to put 1st class stamps on, it needs to have the amount on the stamp because Americans dont know how much a first class stamp is, i still put first class stamps on, they still get there as fast as they always have, yet he told me it would take weeks, he remarks about the amount of mail i send, i always get a huff when he says, again.. the package today was for my in-laws, he had a dig about that. then he started on about how it should of been wrapped square. no corner to put stamp on, im about to lose it with him, im shocked and proud of myself i haven't yet.

My moan is that it is 100 degrees Farenheit (37 C) outside with mugginess. This is no good. Can't walk dog, can't do nuthin'....yuck. About to barricade myself in my room with a window AC unit. I wish there would be a nice relieving thunderstorm to break this! Steals every ounce of energy and motivation from me. I understand if this was the tropics, the South or the Southwest but it's the Pacific Northwest and we are not used to it or equipped for it!!! Wah wah wah moan.

I got a letter from my boyfriend today stating that he received 5 of my letters in one night. Sure as h*ll didn't write those letters in a week, so Florida's mailsystem is very slow. I'm sure prisons in other states go through that as well.

Sometimes a tense situation can be defused by putting some humor into it. How that's sexist and derogatory is beyond me but I'm a woman so...

I must admit, were I a woman and someone said this to me, I'd calm down shortly after having smacked their face from here to kingdom come....
