I have decided that I am going to finally follow my dream of being an art therapist. Even if it means that I have to work side jobs as a waitress or a janitor. Whatever it takes. I have been in school for 2.5 years, attempting to pick a major and career that is what the people around me would call "more practical" than art therapy. I am studying special education right now, but I want to do more than that. So I have decided to just go for it, even with the economy the way it is. So there. lol
Sorry just wanted to share that haha :P

You: go girl!
Good to hear! Great to see you're pursuing something you truly want. Don't stop chasing dreams :)
Good for you! At university I shared a place with a girl doing art therapy and I was amazed. I didn't even know what it was before I met her (I'm a typical academic - all books and no creativity). She really enjoyed it and I'm sure you will. Never stop following your dreams!
Yaay! Always awesome to see people following their dreams!!! You go Karleep :)
Great to hear karleep. Follow that dream! :)
I'm so happy for you, this must not have been an easy decision for you to make! But I've always believed that you must do things with passion, or not at all. I wish you nothing but the best in this journey!:D
I wish you all the best :)
My son Tom loves his art therapy !! he has severe autism he goes once a week !!!! good on you special education is great for children like Tom without it were would they all be. Tom has come on soooo well in school all down to people like you.
That is awesome, good for you!! I think no matter what the outside factors are if you are doing something you love you will succeed : )
Great to hear that you follow your heart. I love it when people make their dreams become reality. :)
awww you guys thanks for all the encouraging words! Every single one is much appreciated :-) :grouphug:
Good luck with it Karleep hope all goes well and good for you x
I wish you all the best in your new endeavor.. Dont ever let anyone tell you that you can't do something... Before they even try, show them you can!
You should always do what you want to do. Don't live your life for other people.
Good luck and congratulations :)
Good for you. I'm 41 years old and have never found anything that I really dream of pursuing as a career. I have a good job that I enjoy sometimes but at least I don't hate it. But I really envy people who have found their calling and are truly passionate about their work.
I don't know how anyone could say that it's impractical. There is definitely a market for it. It goes hand in hand with what you had already chosen to do. I think it's a wise choice because you spend 1/3rd of your life at work - you might as well enjoy it.
