Well it says they're considering it as a factor... but obviously she couldn't have been right in the head.
The public health nurse would still be following up with a baby that small...there definitely need to be more spot checks on mothers having trouble.
They say she had postpartum depression. Makes you do horrible things sometimes. Incredibly sad.

Funnily the north half of this province is on fire (something like 100 current wildfires out of control)...and the south half is flooded.
I think it's a combination of a really snowy winter and then a really rainy spring/summer. They're saying it's just from the rain but... I would think all the extra melt from winter can't have helped. Just too much precip to deal with and the rivers (there are 2 that converge in calgary) overflowed their banks. I lived there in the flood of 2005 and it was nothing compared to this.
What happened? Was it rain, levys breaking on the river?
Meanwhile my entire state is on fire..

I didn't know much about cicadas prior to watching this. The life of the cicada breaks my heart. I teared up a couple of times during this. My heart is soft for the whole gamut...cicadas to convicts haha

Yea it's pretty horrific. My penpal said ever for Menard this is a crazy number of murders...that stabbings and assaults are very common but murder almost never happens. A certain amount of it probably stems from Tamms closing...they were already overcrowded and then they had to make room for new inmates that needed the seg cells. So...they started doubling up even more people....and...helllllllo look what has happened.
I guess as the lifer...my penpal is less likely to be on the receiving end. But it still makes me nervous every time I hear someone has died in there.
Three murders and we're not even half way through the year?! THAT'S CRAZY!! They need to get their S*** together over there.

I don't even know what to say. In the free world there are so many support systems for people who are contemplating suicide, but without indicators, nothing for inmates. I can't imagine the burden that young man felt. Terrible news.

Inmate found dead in cell at southern Illinois prison

MENARD, Ill. • An inmate serving time for murder has been found dead in his cell at a prison in southwestern Illinois.
Illinois Department of Corrections spokesman Tom Shaer says the 30-year-old man died in an apparent suicide and was found Monday afternoon with a bed sheet around his neck.
The Randolph County Coroner was on the scene.
The prisoner was not immediately being identified by name pending notification of his family.
He was serving a 40-year sentence for murder and was housed in a single-person cell.
Shaer says there was nothing in man's behavior to indicate he was at risk of harming himself.
Thnx Sask! Usually he's a very upbeat person, but the change in his voice when he told me this just said everything. However, I'm very glad that he puts his trust in me like this, it's amazing!

That is incredibly sad :( I'm glad he had someone to share that with instead of having to keep all of it inside. But nevertheless that is a heartbreaker :(
I just got off the phone with my J. And for the first time in over TWO years he's shown me some deep emotions and he talked about how incredibly hard it is on him to not be able to see his mom, dad and daughter. It really broke my heart :(

Yea I'll be curious to read more about this. That's the only article I've seen so far. You'd think there would be charges for hitting a pedestrian...but...maybe there are rules for peds on the highway that I"m not familiar with.
